We are thrilled to announce that Glodon Takeoff for Architecture and Structure (TAS) has officially obtained the IFC2x3 Coordination View 2.0 Export Certificate of buildingSMART. This is another breakthrough for TAS after receiving the import certification in January this year. TAS is now one of the few BIM applications to achieve both IFC Coordination View 2.0 Import and Export certifications. With this new power, TAS is able to establish the interoperability between itself and other professional applications used in the upstream and downstream process, such as design, construction, operational maintenance, etc., and made the seamless connection between different stages of the whole life cycle of AEC projects come true.

IFC Certification: With more and more BIM technologies applying to the construction industry, many software vendors have set out to develop BIM-based design software and coordination platforms. The communication and conversion between different file formats needs a uniform data interface, so the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) comes out to serve the purpose. IFC provides technological basis and specifications for the development of this data interface, and brings conveniences in transferring and reading design files between various software and platforms.

This certification is a milestone of Glodon in the BIM field, and also serves as a base and starting point for Glodon's future development in this field. Take it as an incentive, Glodon will achieve breakthroughs in all aspects, and continue to provide users with high quality services and products.

TAS is developed based on Glodon's self-owned graphics platform. During the verification, not only did TAS successfully fulfill the requirements of all 772 checkpoints, but also was praised for its enhancement in the diversity of exported entities and models. With the excellent performance in conformity verification, TAS was finally approved to obtain the IFC2x3 Coordination View 2.0 Export Certificate from buildingSMART.

The certified Coordination View 2.0 IFC Import & Export will be available with TAS 2016, which will be released at the end of August 2015.

buildingSMART:  formerly the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI), is an international organization which aims to improve the exchange of information between software applications used in the construction industry. It has developed Industry Foundation Classes (IFCs) as a neutral and open specification for Building Information Models (BIM).
